To be honest, Instagram plays a vital role in my life. Yeh I know what you are thinking. I am addicted to social media, right? Not really, but it’s getting closer. Every day, I waste most of my time only using phone and surfing the Instagram.
First thing I do after opening my eyes is taking the phone and checking Instagram’s notifications. Don’t ask me why because I do it automatically and unconsciously. While waiting for bus, when eating, before sleeping, while sitting in a coffee shop, every free moment, I will go to the Instagram. Therefore, it would not be an exaggeration to say that Instagram has become my time-wasting habit.
However, why is that social media so important for me ? Well, because I believe this platform will support my career and professional improvement. Here, I show all my artworks and this platform helps me to reach more supporters and peers. Every time I post something on social media, I will get a lot of likes, shares, and comments. Thereby, I feel a sense of achievement, be paid more attention and receive support from people around me as well as strangers. Moreover, I can get to know several talented artists and designers and then broaden my network. Also, Instagram is the biggest source to get inspiration for all my art projects. Looking to brilliant drawings, illustrations, art videos from skillful artists and designers, I can study the way they draw or do their projects and get the motivation to keep trying hard and improving myself.

After all, I realized that Instagram is not totally harmful, the way I consume makes it awful. So I’m trying to be self-disciplined by decreasing the time using phone as much as I can. Moving to Tampere and living here helps me in the process. I utilize my time just walking around in the center with my friends, having some picnics at the weekend, going sightseeing near the lake or forest. I never thought that my life would become healthier, easier, and calmer like it is now. But I love this life so much. Enjoy the nature and get away from the bad habits on media.

It's nice that you've been able to think about your relationship with Instagram from an objective standpoint, and realized that even if the platform is very precious to you, there might be a problem with how you're currently using it. Hopefully you'll be able to keep enjoying the good parts Insta has to offer, without going overboard.
Honestly, I don't like Instagram, but I find its idea pretty amazing. The way you can share your creative work is very nice. It creates relaxed creative environment so that shy and unconfident people can share what they do much easier. It's almost like github for programmers, but much more friendly and relaxed. Isn't this beautiful? Although I still find Instagram a platform where entertaining and amusement are the most important things. And often people use if for advertisement...
Nevertheless it's an extremely nice place to start for a creative person. If you want something more serious - go for Behance. It looks like a decent platform for professionals (at least for designers).
Nice to know, I personally quickly skim through instagram and rarely post, so I'm pretty good at my instagram consumption.
